I am making a G scale(1/29) army train to run on my outdoor layout. I wanted a gun jeep on a flatcar but a 1/35 scale jeep just looks too small. I found a 1/32 Testors M38 metal kit that I thought I could convert into a M151. i cut out the grill and the rear wheel openings. I enlarged and printed off the armor pattern I had drawn up years ago for my gun jeep models in 1/35 scale. After some adjustments(this whole project is adjustments) I made the rear armor out of metal printing plate. Then realized the curved in part of the M-38 was going to be a problem I made new sides up out of thin plastic, from drawings I found online. I cut out the grill and made a new one from plastic rod.
The armored windshield was cut out and the doors started.

Making good progress on Moon Shiner's. Mirrors are curved printer plate. The gray channel will hold the thick plastic windows. Door handles are next then painting will soon follow.

Moon Shiners is about done. This shot shows the difference in the M-38 Testors Kit that I started out with and what I ended up with. I still need to mount the M-60 and the gas tank. I use Papilio Ink Jet vinyl for the lettering/graphic. The stars were some vinyl ones I had leftover from my gun truck modeling days.

I just got a flatcar to mount the jeep models on and a die cast 1/32nd Huey. I have this Revell 1/32nd kit I assembled, with new decals on a flatcar.
Early Army train photo.

I have since got another locomotive and made a caboose.
