Hi everyone
Here are some photos of my Dragon Elefant with Zimmerit
Second kit I ever finished. It was actually a fun build, the kit is superb. Only AM items used are Aber Fenders and Friul tracks
It's depicting a Elefant of the s.Pz.J.Abt.653 in Galicia 1944
Thanks for watching ^^
Cheers

Fabulous model and even more impressive as you say it's only the 2nd you have ever finished.
Weathering and overall colours look spot-on. Great stuff!

Simply amazing for your second model. That's something I would be proud of after five years of building.

thank you very much fellas. The effort wasn't in vain: the Elefant won me silver in the category MV3 on the 'Belgian Scale Modellers Convention 2011' two weeks ago. My initial Tiger I won me gold btw
dunno if someone is interested but photos of the show report can be found on my Photobucket page:

This is your second kit ? wow !
The Elefant looks fantastic and you should be proud.
Model No.3 will be a masterclass, you should do a build log !

Very nice model. Camo and weathering is spot on. Is this the kit with the zimm molded on, or did you create it by hand?

thanks Brandon ^^, indeed, the kit I used here is the Dragon Elefant with Zimmerit moulded on. Made life a bit easier. Though I want to give it a try someday to do it myself...

@GewoonWouter – Wouter,
Super job on the Elefant. Really like the weathering on the running gear, looks realistic. A very well deserved congratulations. Will you be setting this one on a diorama?
Keep up the excellent work and thanks for posting and sharing your build.

Hi Eddy, glad you like it mate, thanks
I'm not really planning a dio, but I do want to make a simple groundwork with a figure next to the Elefant to show the size. And maybe some jerrycans added...keeping this simple

@GewoonWouter – Wouter,
A vignette sounds simple enough, so I’m looking forward to seeing it. Till then enjoy the holidays.

This looks like a very good representation of the b&w's I've gone over before, especially with the weathering applied. I'll second your win being very well deserved
Oh and I have to ask, is that a bootprint near the hatch in the closeup?

Looks great with the figure. My older Italeri will have the Tamiya tank crew at rest set and a mix of the DML tank crew, these are just 2 of the sets I use for all my German armor as they fit right into each vehicle very nicely. Six crewmen are a good day's worth painting!
