Hi all,
Will be trying the oil dot technique for the first time so I was wondering which colors I should use when the base color is Russian Green. I went with the Abteilung 501 oils from MIG and I bough white, wash brown, and blue. Don't know if I can use all of these or whether I need different ones so if you could point me in the right direction I'll appreciate it.

Hi Rob,
honestly the 502 oil colors that you mentioned probably wouldn't be my first choices for a Russian scheme. Of course it's all a personal preference, but in the past I have had good results using Faded Green, Luftwaffe Yellow and Olive Green - these give some nice, subtle variations in the green tones. A little blue can be used for deeper shadowing effects.
I hope this helps a little, and please don't hesitate to contact me directly if you have any questions.

take care,
Rick

Thank you very much, Rick! Exactly what I wanted to know. I assume the colors I have wouldn't really be good for this.
I guess it's time I order some more colors then
Again, thank you!
Rob
P.S. Oh, and I did mean 502 rather than 501. Oops!
