Hello Gents,
Possibly this has been discussed in the past, but my search here on Armorama has not produced results. I have the AFV Club Centurion from the 1973 October War in progress. I bought the AFV Club Mantlet Cover that is made of vinyl.
I am looking to see what others might have successfully used to glue this vinyl piece to the plastic - what worked and gave a great, long lasting bond, and what didn't?
My experience with super glue and/or 5 minute epoxy with vinyl to plastic have not produced good results - any recommendations are most welcome!
Thanks in advance!

Hi Kyle
Looks like Superglue would do the job though...

Superglue worked for me as well. Also, you will ned to coat it with PVA glue (Elmer's white school glue) before paint will stick to it as well.

On mine I gave the vinyl a sand and then used CA glue, got a good strong bond but I did have to use a generous amount of glue.

Yup, I would. I don't know about the Tamiya primer, but Testors Model Master Enamels didn't work without it. I would do it just to be sure.

I used CA on mine and it worked perfectly even with a small amount of glue.
The only problem I faced was the mantler cover being slightly undersized so it did not fit right. I had to cut it and used some putty to fill the gaps.

Thanks for the tips guys. I was hesitant to use super glue, but it worked great - was a piece of cake to get on the model.
Thanks again!
