Stan,
My advice?
Don't use seafoam because it looks like seafoam
For me, seafoam kills every dio, instantely.
Look around for Silflor foliage, it may be a bit more expensive, but the difference is worth it.
I found a few resellers in UK googling it.

If you look around for Artemisia versicolor on plant supplies websites you can get your own seafoam seeds and grow as much as you want for a lot less than buying a box of seafoam

First i apologize because i mismatched seafoam instantly with Island moss.I realized it now reading Colin's answer. I see seafoam not as bad as island moss (lichen is another word i think), also often used for trees, but not convincing either and so boring since everyone used it a while ago.
Why don't you wire twist your tree?

Of course, where is the difference between the (to) frail branches and twigs of seafoam and the unbreakable ends of a copper wire? Apart the sturdiness of course. Just don't try to save time and use very thin wire so to be able to do a lot office end twigs.
Look at the website of Silhouette
Silhouette, under their foliage you will not recognize what has been used as material for branches and twigs.
I am never keeping apart Silflor, Mininature and Silhouette, it's probably the same anyway.

Hi Stan
I normally purchased mine from New Modellers Shop, www.newmodellersshop.co.uk/ The price and postage are reasonable, and you get quite a selection.
I recently completed Vietnam: Trouble in Southeast Asia campaign, and there is a tree included in it. By all means I am no expert but this is how I made mine : a 4mm multicore cable is used for the trunk with the copper cables being used as the roots. I then drilled some holes in the insulation and glued the seaform branches onto it. Once done I covered the trunk and roots with Anita Decor tree bark paste. After 24hrs I primed the tree black, followed by basalt grey and ochre brown before highlighting it in deck tan. I then sprayed the seaform with glue and sprinkled some Noch leaf scatter.
Hope the above is useful. Have fun
