Can't help with locating a kit, but Real Models has a nice photo assistant book on the EROC and is having a sale for Christmas.

What kind of pictures would you like? This is a Cougar 4x4 with independant suspension. The truck in the first post is a JERRV not a Cougar. Similar but different. I'm a Field Service Rep for the company that builds these trucks and working here in Afghanistan.

You're the perfect guy to answer this question then. I always wondered, what's the deal with the taller Cougars, my trucks all had the regular height roof, but I saw some in Afghanistan that are like the one in your picture, taller roof. Is there a different nomenclature for it?

The one with a raised roof is a
Cougar A2. The most notable difference is the extra 6 inch headroom. Also looking close at the door and under it you will notice some bosses sticking out for extra bolt on armor.

The JERRV is just a specific configuration of the Force Protection 6x6 Cougar. I'm pretty sure the only reason why the US military makes a distinction between the 2 is because the JERRV is managed through the US Army's PM Assured Mobility Systems, while all the other Cougar variants are managed by the JPO MRAP. This is why there's the Buffalo (JPO MRAP) and the Mine Protected Clearance Vehicle (PM AMS) and the RG-33L (JPO MRAP) and the Panther Medium Mine Protected Vehicle (PM AMS). The US Army understands the JERRV, MPCV, and the MMPV to be members of their family of Route Clearance Vehicles (RCVs) and not part of the MRAP family. Its basically an accounting distinction.

I ordered it directly from Cromwell, I emailed Gordon and right now its actually on sale 15% off.
With regards to the EOD robot i know AFV club makes the larger talon, but who makes the smaller one that they use.

I have not yet checked my email this evening. Did you get the photos I sent earlier today? I scratchbuilt that Talon, although as you said it's out in plastic now. The other is a resin/PE offering from HobbyFan.

I did Rob, thanks alot for the pictures. I've been busy studying for finals so i haven't been able to respond to your email. But where did you find the Packbot. From watching Bomb Patrol i notice that they carry 2 talon's and a Packbot as a back up or lightweight portable one

I must have gotten the Packbot from (gasp!) Ebay. I don't know why so many people have disparaging things to say about it. I have a pretty good relationship with a few of the sellers on there, and can usually get smokin' good deals when I buy several things at once.

The Cromwell kit has to be modified to create the Canadian Cougar EROC version...different bin arrangement on the left side, different machine gun turret, different antenna mounts, and a few other details that need to be removed or added.
