Hi

Can anyone please tell me what the main differences are between the M35A2 cargo truck and the M35A3 model? And what conversions would need to be done to the AFV club kit? Pictures would also be appreciated.

Thanks’ in advance
Regards,

Hi

IMHO the most visible differences are the headlights setup :

and the wheels. The M35A3 is fitted with bigger "super singles" wheels ( two-piece 20X11.00 Motorwheel rims with Central Tire Inflation System + Michelin 14.5R20 tires) :

You'll find more differences listed on Olive-Drab.com

Several M35A3 walkarounds on PrimePortal.

AFAIK there's still no conversion set available for AFV Club M35A2 kit...

Maybe someone will do an update conver. And while they are at it do a M36 conver. Also need a hardtop trade off for the canvas on the cab, when you are
building a M109A3 conver.

Hi there,

the most visible differences are.
- New 14.00R20 Michelin tires with CTIS
- Modified air intake
- Headlamps moved to the fenders
- New front grille
- Position lights added below the tailgate
- Tie-down rings integrated into the cargo bay sides (similar to the M939 series)

I sold some M35 A3 phots to a German AM company, but I am not sure if and when there will be a release.

our M109A3 had a canvas cover on it when I got to Ft. Stewart in 96. I remember changing it to a hard top later on when we turned in one of our other 2.5 ton. I don't know if it left the factory with that soft top but it had one. It had a hole in it to. That made for a wet ride sometimes.

The A3 has an automatic transmission. The shifter "pedestal" is similar to the M923 5 ton.
