Hi everyone,
I just recieved my beautiful Char B1 Bis. It's not going to be opened until christmas as it is a gift, but i thought I'd get some good reference on painting aside from books.
I am hand brushing only so I have two questions:
1. How can you give a nice effect to hand brushing a model? It seems like most of the Char B1's i have seen on armorama are airbrushed. Can I bypass that?
2. I am painting and decaling the tank as Char B1 Bis n° 315 "Meurthe", part of the 41e BCC, 3e compagnie. I'm no WWII historian on France, so could anyone give me specific colors of the tanks found in the 3rd company of the 41e BCC?
Also, thanks to frenchy for providing me some more photo reference of Meurthe, and some details on camos of the tank companies as well.
It would also be helpful if I could get answers from people who have built this tank or have experience building french tanks of WWII.
Thanks, and Merry christmas, happy holidays!
Alex B.
EDIT1: here is some photo reference of Meurthe. She was also captured after being knocked out and put into German service:
