turret numbers on ferdinands

Was ther variation in size and colour/style on the side numbers for the ferdinand

my assumption would be yes. I mean there are differant units, and if they all had the same color and size, then how would you know which unit that vehicle was from.

Sabot--No Ferdinand's didn't have turrets. They have a gun built into a fixed superstructure.

Godfather--I'm not 100% sure about size, but I assume the answer to that is yes. In regards to color I am 100% sure. The two famous units that used Ferdinands at Kursk (Schwere Panzerjager Abteilung 653 & Schwere Panzerjager Abteilung 654) did their numbers differently. The 653 had numbers that were just black outlines with the inner color being that of the vehicle while the 654 had all white numbers.
