Gents,
What's the best paint/primer for AFV Club rubber band tracks? Do they have to be primed first? I am having trouble getting paint to stick to these. I have used Tamiya in the rattle cans.
TIA
Brad

Hi Brad.
Have you tried washing the tracks in warm soapy water first to wash away the mold release residue? I've found in the past if rubber band tracks just won't take paint, I end up priming them with rattle can automotive primer first.
Cheers
Jeff

a good scrubbing with dish soap and a toothbrush followed a blast of dark grey tamiya spray can paint (or any lacquer base paint) is my method, and it winds up being quite durable in my experience. and i can confirm this works on AFV tracks just fine.
Basically, if lacquer isn't working sticking, then you are kind of in trouble. not much sticks better than lacquer, which is why almost all primers are lacquer based.
