Aloha everyone!!!
Got a question, probably a dumb one at that. When a country sells a MBT to another country generally how is it sent? What I mean to say is the tank will not be sold to another country in a camo pattern to begin with so generally what would the base coat be? See-told you-a dumb question.
Thank you in advance!!

Kurt,
This is really one of those "just depends" kinda subjects.
For example, if a country was to contract for new manufactured mil vehicles, then they would certainly specify the base color for its delivery (if not the actual camouflage).
On the other hand, if a country were getting a delivery of mil vehicles as part of a government-to-government military assistance package, the vehicles might be delivered in their old service colors maybe with only their markings painted out.
But then again, if the vehicles were being delivered as part of a "secondary" arms market sale (i.e. decommissioned military vehicles sold to a third party which then sells and exports the vehicles to another end user), then the sky's the limit on colors. They could be refurbished and repainted, or just sold "as is" in their prior service colors, faded and rusty, or sparkly new looking in some spiffy cammo.
If you have some particular project, then maybe some one could help you dial in the actual colors and markings (if any) your subject was delivered to the end user you have in mind....
Im not saying that inthe real world anything goes, really, more that it matters what the subject you're planing to model (assuming you're interested in factual and historical accuracy).
If you're building a "hypothetical" or "crypto-panzer," then I guess anything that fits your vision would be just fine
Maybe some more info on what you're thining about...?

Hi there,
I am not sure but I think that Krausss-Maffei Wegmann ship the tanks and AFV in the colors of the customers army. O.K. I never interested for such a question, so I
did look for the color when a vehicle got handed over.

P.S. I ask a friend who works for KMW.

Hi Kurt,
My friend at Krauss-Maffei Wegmann confirmed that the vehicle for foreign nations
are factory painted in the usernations color or camo pattern. I guess that GDLS or Bae Systems do the same.

I know the british vehicals that were given to Jorden,
they went in what the unit( vehical) condition was at the time, broken or well worn was part of it,
who cared,
as the contract was with parts, suppled at a price.
