Hello
I collect modern military models in 1/35 scale from a second Iraq war (asymmetrical phase). I would like to make a small diorama with some military helicopter. Today I found a MD 530G Gunship ( Dragon 3526 ).
Is it correct to use?
Thanks

Hi Chris,
as far I know, the MD 530G was just a proposal from McDonnell/Boeing for an upgrade for the MD 500 helicopter series. No one where ever used by the US Military. If you want to build a MD 500 from OIF you might choose Dragon`s AH-6 Little Bird. Although I am not sure if the 160th SOAR was deployed to Iraq, The Little Bird is the better choice over the MD 530G prototype.
Just my two cents

There were Little Birds in Iraq in 03 and 04. They would fly in and out of BIAP right over my tent about 4:30 or 5:00 am most days.

Which version? When I photographed them in '08 they were using the Mike, with six main rotor blades and other mods.

Hi
The Philippine air force use the md520 in their fight against insurgents, relatively simple conversion.

Didnt Blackwater or similar organisation use md530?
