I'm looking at purchasing Dragon's M270 #3522 or the NATO version #3523. I'm not finding much in the way of reviews and was wondering what the differences between the two are.

If memory serves me, one comes with separate rocket pods. I think it is the US Army one.
The NATO one is in fact a US one with different markings. You'll have to change some details for foreign users like UK or France.

Hi Matt,

Dragon #3522 has the complete rocket pods with cranes and the "NATO" Version has not. #3522 is the better choise for a MLRS kit.

The US version is 3523 and NATO is 3522. So, the NATO kit is better?

What is the quality/accuracy of these kits? I haven't been able to find any reviews for either of them but I seem to recall reading some negative remarks about one of them in a forum omewhere.

The are both from the same molds but the better kit is the US version with the rocket pods.

As for reviews, they are older kits. The details are fairly good. Eduard and others make both cab details and external details.

Having built this kit myself - i found that it was a bit of a dog !
Be prepared to do a lot of dry-fitting with the rocket pods,Dragon instructions say that the pods can be removable but i found that the fit was so tight it`s impossible to do,trouble is it is the only game in town for a MLRS.

Hi Matt,

to correct myself, Dragon #3522 is the version with the rocket pods. Dragon #3523 is only the "light" version minus pods and crane. #3523 has also been reboxed by Italeri and Revell Germany. As the other said, the both MLRS kit are from an early period of Dragons works and require a certain amount of reworking.
But there are a lot of good AM stuff around for this track. And it´s unfortunatly the only game in town.
