here's a few images of this old clunker nearing the finish line. More of the long drawn out trek can be seen here.

Great job
I have just one doubt abot fuel tanks
Why are you going to use US jerrycans? Do you perhaps imagine that BA-20 crew has taken them from a Willys jeep ?
Anyway congrats indeed and thanks a lot for sharing build and link

Thanks for the comments and taking the time. I guess my thinking was that it would be okay to use this type because of Lend Lease Program where the States lent stuff to the Soviet Union before they actually entered the war themselves?

Yes it's ok, according to lend and lease stockings, it would be correct indeed using US jerrycans on Russian armoured car. Furthermore BA-20 and Willys jeep both were used for recognition purpose so most likely they could operate together.
The only thing which puzzled me was I've hardly seen on original pics Us fuel cans on Russian vehicles.
But anyway, it was just a little doubt. Your model looks incredibly good
Cheers

I believe that was because 1. Soviet tanks already had external storage, although on some some external jerry cans would make sense, the Su-76 for example, and 2. because the lines of supply for the Soviet War Machine were much shorter until late '44 when you start to see Soviet tanks with campaign stowage, which was probably tarped over. Wheeled vehicles are another story, naturally you wouldn't see them on a Katyusha but other vehicles could and did have them, and the Soviets eventually designed their own I recall, but also used US and German ones

I've had this kit in the stash for about 20 years. Always looked heavy (on the thickness side), but an interesting looking kit anyway. Nice to see one done up, pretty good job on the old klunker. Thanks for sharing and the info, (have not checked any ref. yet) about the back cab plate and fit problems. Will keep it in mind when I get to it. Always wanted to do this one with open doors and rusted out in a riviene somewhere but just never got around to it. I like the road dust effect you have achived on this, looks like it came down a dirt road in the summer time.
