Hi guys,
What do you all wanna see in 2012?
For me personally, I really hope to see:
1) SF figures in Iraq/A'stan
2) More Brits/Commanweath figures in WW2
3) SOG/MaCV from Bravo 6
What's yours?
Alex

As for Russian Spetsnaz, there are loads of figures in that theme from ANT Miniatures. Check the 1/35 scale gallery in "resin kit" tab:
http://www.ant-miniatures.ru or http://ant-shop.com
We have couple of reviews of ANT Miniatures Spetsnaz figures here: link
Also, I'm sure you know of Russian Spetsnaz and US SF figures from Evolution Miniatures. Very cool, here are the reviews: link
Cheers,
Mario

Hi Folks,
My main areas of interest are British/Commonwealth troops and the Royal Navy.
Two resin manufacturers are active in this area Resicast and the Wee Friends range from Friendship Models.
On the Infantry side I'd like to see one or two more Medics. Resicast hyave a couple of wounded soldiers and will be releasing their first British Infantry Medic soon, I was working on him this morning.
I'd like to see a kneeling medic and a Soldier walking carrying a stretcher.
References are from IWM and for discussion only.
http://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/search
The other area of development is in Early BEF figuers and I'm hoping for some additional developments there.
I'd also like to see some troops for is a Mortar Team. Both resicast and Accurate Armour do support weapons in the form of a 3inch and 4 inch mortar respectively and some suitable crew would be very useful.
On the uniform side I'd like to see more open collars, turned up BD sleeves , open BDs and Greatcoats.
One other area that we are lacking in is wounded British Soldiers/Prisoners. MB did a nice set of German Captives and I'd like to see a similar option for the British. A well though out set could easily double as prisoners and a varied and mixed order fo dress would make them useable in many theathers of operation.
My other great want is for some more RN figures. In particular a set of Officer/Perry Officer Heads and more working crew suitable for the LCVP, LCM3 and Vosper MTB.
I'd much prefer to see working type crew than those in smart navy uniform.
I'd also like to see more choice in Commonwealth head sets in general.
There are developments in a number of these areas so here's hoping for more in 2012.

most of ANT figures are FSB Spetsnaz, I wish for GRU spetsnaz during the Afghan war, and I already have the Evolution figures, we need more, like a group in ambush position for example.

I had no idea you were in the fourms. I love your work to say the least. One thing I'd love to see are soldiers pinned down calling in air support or something to that effect.

Vladimir,
If you want an idea how about along your Marines in Hue series one with an M20 bazooka which the marines had in storage in Vietnam and brought out to use in Hue to blast holes in walls so they didn't have to go through doors all the time.
But any Vietnam figure from you will make me more than happy

I'm looking forward to the action poses that Vladi's combat Infantry figures will have. I'd also like to see the following (all Vietnam era):
US Infantrymen patrolling carrying the lightweight rucksack with frame
Vietnamese civilians performing various activities
US Infantryman setting up a claymore
Other US Infantrymen in poses that would represent Soldiers waiting in an Ambush position
US troops conducting daily activities without gear on - just jungle fatigues and possibly headgear
Cheers,
James

Hi folks,
The other group I forgot to mention are truck drivers. It would be nice to see some crews climbing onto trucks, unloading or loading stores etc.
For the Nam fans Firestorm Models have some interesting Aussie figures due out mid to end of January.

Last year there was a great suggestion of German Motorcyclists having a rest or a nap on their motorcycles or in their sidecars. Sadly no such set has been released so far as this is something that is quite common in WW2 pictures from the Russia Campaign. With the long distances they had to cover

Seems like it would be easy to satisfy at least three of those requests with one figure: an SF guy (In Iraq or Afghanistan) most likely Iraq, doing something different, like handing a bottle of water/soccer ball to a kid. (Or shaking hands with a shiekh.)
Hand to hand? Are you serious? In the course they used to tell us we were learning just enough to go out and get our own asses kicked.
CAS is probably going to look a little boring. Maybe the use of an AN/PED-1 or similar would be better.
Javelin crew? Look for it.

Al,
Thanks for letting us know about Firestorm's upcoming releases. The figures you had the pictures for look good, and if they are any indication of the others, I look forward to adding the Firestorm figures to some of my dioramas.
Cheers,
James
