well, I started this kit about 10 months ago and it has been put to a hold several times. Therefore it took the ten months
some info you should know:
- the kit build very well!
- this is the first time i tried to apply fake mud to the model which is a mix of plaster, wood glue and acryl paints.
- the mud color was achieved by several washes after applying a clear coat.

please read the text below the pics

the build log pics can be found here

Right now I am wondering what you guys think about it, is it cool like this, or should I do some extra to it to make it more realistic? please remember that this was my first experiment with mud and the type 90 is finished with matte coat at the moment.

If you have any suggestions, please make it as clear as possible to me so I can try it. some tips about creating mud are very welcome (links to guides / examples etc)

thanks guys!

Looks very good. The mud is a nice touch.

I found that the upper hull part on my kit is slightly warped. I got the Type 90 kit with the ammo loading crew.

Very nice, i fell that i would benefit form a bit of panel/hatch lightening and some more defined washes, but that's personal preference. nice mud.

ps it might be worth adding an aerial.

Hi, I love the mud effect too. I'll have to try that myself sometime.

By aerial, I think he means an antenna.

Overall, I think you did a really good job here!

That's pretty damn fine mud you have there, good effort. A lighter grayish yellow pass of dust over this is all you need. The Japanese maintain these tanks in excellent condition, so any other weathering... leaks and fuel stains, bare metal... is highly unlikely and therefore unnecessary, so you are aware this condition would last about five minutes before they washed it?

thanks, this was the first time i tried mud. I used plaster mixed with arclylic paint. after that use wahes on the mud to achiev the colour you like. airbrushing color is also very effective!

That could be right. I will look on the internet for pics with antennas. i might put antennas on it then

thanks for the compliment. I realise that these tank are usualy kept clean. therefore i didnt make it too dirty on top like chips paint weathering etc. Only like i just drove through a forest.
