I just recently returned to modeling after a 27 year hiatus. I'm attempting to do a Pershing 1/72 scale. My question is what kind of techniques are there to get that sand casting texture on the armor at such a small scale. I don't have an AB. Is that texture a little to ambitious.

you might be able to apply some mr surfacer on the parts you need too, that may give you the cast texture. on larger scale kits I stipple glue.
