Hi Guys my local hobby shop has got both Dragon version of the m2a1 and m3a1 for sale at the moment for VERY reasonable prices roughly 45 australian dollasr and i was wondering do they need to be heavily modified to make ealry war IDF halftracks... I am waiting on Tom Gannons books to arrive but these kits are selling fast and i dont particularly want to pay 60 dollars plus for them when the cheap ones have sold out . TIA

If you can read French, I can send you some informations about early IDF half -tracks. As far as I can tell, the mods are not that numerous and most of them should be easily done on both M2A1 and M3A1 models.

The answer is actually quite simple: If you want to build an accurate halftrack you will need one of the DML offerings. Tamiya's is outdated by now and there is no other. So get it as long as it's cheap!

BTW: I've seen 1/35 scale DML halfracks for 10$ on a Swiss e-bay type site... Of course I got mine for 7x as much... Ouch!
