Just got some Vallejo surface primer #73601,the 60 Ml.size.If I find that I have to thin it,what should I use? Will their thinner work since the primer is a polyurethane? Also is clean-up the same as with modelcolor? Thanks,Jeff

Jeff, I usually use just one drop of plain water to an airbrush cup of primer. I haven't tried the thinner yet but I'm sure it's compatible...again, water works perfectly so I save the thinner for the Model Color/Air range. Although thinning of the primers isn't recommended by Vallejo I find that the little bit of H2O works wonders for me.

The Vallejo primers are the best out there. You can thin them with Vallejo thinner, distilled water, or Liquitex Flow Aid. Flow Aid goes a long way and makes the paint slick; it's what I usually use.

I have started using the Vallejo Primer, and I airbrush it without thinning, usually about 20-25psi, and have no issues. I personally like the higher pressure to ensure the primer gets into all the nooks and crannies.
One thing I have found with the Vallejo primer, is to make sure you clean the model real well before applying. I have had a little masking issues on a model I did not wash completely before priming.

I wash my models with Sunlight Dish Soap. Find it washes good, and rinses clean with no film left.

I spray it down liberally with Windex and rinse gently in water with the kitchen sink sprayer. No touching and no scrubbing so no loss of parts.

Another good product for washing prior to painting is "Simple Green" which is biodegradable and leaves no residue.

Not meaning to steal the topic but... what is "Simple Green"? Like Windex like dishwashing liquid, the reason I asking is to see if I can find something equivalent here.

Thanks!! I love sites that have MSDS sheets!! Not sure we have anything like Simple Green, but I at least know in which direction to look. I might just go with normal Ajax anyway.....
