I noticed Squadron had the Verlinden conversion on sale for $9.99 and don't know if any of those details would help out the Academy kit. I do have a FIST-V at work as well as a couple of the turret trainers.

The Academy FIST-V is pretty accurate. I think it is better than the Verlinden conversion, which had some severe fit problems. About the only thing missing are round guards around the rear antenna bases. To replicate these, I use small drinking straws cut to about 1/4 inch long, then cut out squares so it looks like two rings, upper and lower connected by four vertical bars positioned at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock positions when viewed from the top. Also, the sight unit in the target head is not correct for a FIST-V, it is a TOW sight. It is best to leave it out, you cant tell there is anything in there anyway. The actual vehicle has a G/VLLD (Groung/ Vehicular Lasar Locator and Designator) in the target head. Of note, this vehicle is being replace in the active army by the M-7 B-FIST (Bradley- Fires Integration Support Team) Vehicle. Basically a M2A2 bradley that looks externally the same as a normal brad with the addition of two antennas on the rear light shrouds simmilar to the M-981. All the FIST improvements are in the targetting system and fire support computers inside. You can also see the M-7 B-FIST at FAS website. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys I think we will have enough to get that puppy together about christmas time as their is a lot to do between now and then. but I like to have my info up and going so I can print what I need and study study until it is time to build,to me saves time instead of cracking it right out and say ooh goosh that ain't right.
