I was hoping you all might be able to lead me in the right direction for an early Abrams. Would love to hear your opinions here! Thanks.

The original Tamiya M1 kit (#35124) is a very early M1 from the initial production batch in the early '80s. It is pretty good, but still needs some work to bring it up to decent, modern modeling standards.
Here is a tweek list from Missing-Links that addresses corrections/updates to it.
The Esci and ERTL M1s are pretty bad and not really worth the efforts needed to fix them.

Tamiya M1 is about your only option, if you can find one. Esci did one too I think, but if it's like their M1A1, details are pretty weak; probably even harder to find. I assume you're talking 1:35 scale?

Sorry, my mistake. Yes, I meant 1/35 scale.
Jim and Gino, thanks again for the info and the link too.
Regards,
John
Edit: removed a 'dumb' question that was answered when I finished reading the document in the link! Thanks again Gino.
