Here is my latest diorama completed. It depicts an AVGP Cougar crew from the 8th Canadian Hussars and troops from the Royal Westminster Regiment conducting lane training prior to deployment to Bosnia. An US military advisor / OC is grading the troops and crew while making contact with fictitious enemy combatants they might face. For this I used Trumpeter’s AVGP Cougar kit with a few additional details from Eduard, Jaguar, and some scratch building of my own. The crew is from Ultracast with new heads from Verlinden. The infantry are a mixture of Dragon and ICM. I tried to model the Canadian troops as close as I could get them since nobody makes any kits that fit the 80’s-90’s time frame. Base was built up from scrap wood and florist foam. Ground work is celluclay with dirt and rocks from the back yard. Trees were made from Scenic Express with Italian seasoning for leaves. Grass and flowers are from Fredericus-Rex. To round everything off, I printed out a series of photos I had used for building reference and glued them around the base.
On the workbench:
T-62M
ZTZ 99 MBT
Lav-25A2 with MILES Gear
M7 Priest X2
Hi Christopher. Although modern is not my thang, this is a very nice dio. Well laid out, composed, a good idea and everything is done to a nice standard. The reference images around the base add to the scene and tell the story. Nice one.
