I am currently building Dragon's 1/35 Ersatz which as many of you know is a disguised Panther. I could've sworn that recently I read that what seems to be a parting line on the suspension arm is actually supposed to be there and not filed down like I have always done. Does anyone know for sure if the seemingly parting line in this photo should be removed or not?

Our local AMPS chapter built a Panther based vehicle last year. Our leader had a number of various references, and never mentioned this item having some "real" cast line in that location. I would say to be perfectly accurate, sand it down.
That said, on any panther that has all it's wheels, you can't see the torsion bar arms once complete, so save yourself some time and only do a minor clean-up.

thanks for the pic man...my question now is whether certain suspension arms have the line and some don't. The suspension on of the Ersatz utilizes 4 different types of arms...the broken arm to the right of the one intact doesn't appear to have the line...i guess its possible that the line on it is so faint that you wouldn't really be able to tell unless you saw the thing in person...I've always been one for building models without much attention to reference but I am starting to do so now

Michael
If you look carefully, some of the lines are more prominent than others. The faint ones are meant to be sanded off, the others stay.
Some of the pics in the current Panther campaign (some of which are mine) may also be of help.
Regards
Rob

The Panther Campaign is a group build where a group of us are building Panthers or Panther types over a period of time. Each of us post our progress and finished builds and exchange info and commendation. At the end of the campaign, all completed are awarded ribbons.
