i have just finished building this m-113a1 and a m-163a1 vulcan and i am about to start weathering them.
im not sure wheather to put the vulcan in this diorama or not as i dont think there were many of the m-163a1s there.
any suggestions of another diorama to suit the m-163 welcome.

In case you're looking for pics showing M163s in Vietnam, just check out Jerzy' Picasa album
AFAIK, 6 M163s had been sent there in 1968 for trial (two of them had a dummy radar).
On a side note, if you're building the M113A1 as a US one, you should remove the grenade launchers on the front, and the MG3 machine gun as well. These are OK for some M113s in foreign service, like the German ones.

As they are currently, no, they are not correct for Vietnam.
In addition to what has already been pointed out, you need to remove the yellow whoopie lights from both vehicles as well. Those are 1980s Europe features. The M163 with that style engine deck, exhaust pipe, and turn signals is also an M163A2 not seen until the '80s.

I've double checked my refs and in fact 4 M163s had a dummy radar and the other 2 were fitted with a real one.
