What is the difference between an M1A1HA (Heavy Armor) versus an M1A1HC (Heavy Common)? A number of people say that they are the same tank. However, I've seen a number of posts that say that the HC uses a more advanced depleted uranium. If that's true, are there any physical differences? What else separates an HC from an HA?

they are the same tank, common refers to to the M1A1HA both used by them marines and army the only difference is that the marine M1A1HA has extra tie down fittings then the fittings were carried over to army M1A1 HA thats where the term common came in to being
