well it's finally finished. I am pleased with it and I must admit I learned a lot as well, this being my first full resin kit. Below are 4 pics and if you click on MY GALLERY you will see more pics of this and other models I have done.

Very impressive job Cliff! I really like the weathering on the cab.
How did you achieve the worn/worked paint? Where the decals part of the kit?
The only thing I would like to see is more wear on the fifth wheel. Maybe some bare steel and more grease. This is just from what I can see of it in the pics.

Beautiful job!!! I love the weathering, the worn and torn look, the rust.. chipped areas.... I think its your best work yet. And me just finishing my sdk.fz 222 panzerphagen... I can really appreciate the work you put into it. Placement of the decals is perfect...

You'll have to share with me your weathering and worn out, rusty look techniques with me.

the two units when 'hooked togeather as a unit are about 13inchs long




the base is Humbrol #98 Chocolate with orange pastel over.




No there were no decals with the kit so the stars and numbers are out of the Skybow 6X6 kit and the numbers altered in sequence to suit this truck as the serial number had to start with a 4 where as the Dodge one starts with a 3.. The 'ladies and the truck name on the bonnet under the windscreen (black sheep 2) are from the Dragon Wagon kit. The dash gauges are cut out of instrument panel decals supplied with the Italeri water tank truck.

I'm just now finishing my all resin kit of an M123 10 ton beast. You really do get a great sense of accoplishment finishing something like that. I'm working on adapting an old M15a1 trailer for it.. I've got the truck mostly assembled and painted. got some fine details to finish, and then to the trailer.

Cliff: The wrap around decal is a nice touch on the open door--well done.

Another impressive model from "Da Pouchster's" workbench.

This is just me, but I would fade the rubber on the tires to a more grey/black look. The tread looks a little too black & shiney (but that's a nit, and just me).

This is a great vehicle, and again, something a little bit different for us all to enjoy.

Question for you. On your earlier in progress pics, the overal Federal OD appears to be much lighter in color and more faded than what is showing on these pics.

Is it photography/lighting differences from that batch of pictures to these, or has the Federal been darkened since the in progress shots were posted?.

Did you put a drop of clear over the guage faces?

I think it is the pics and the light in which I took them in a hurry but I will look at the unit in the new light of day and if need be I will give it another coat of matt and I am not 100% happy with the way the fifth wheel turned out.

The 50cal I am happy to take some pics of it for you when the camera is next out.

I was lucky to find one original pic of this truck in a book and it gave me the placement of the decals especially the cut in half stars on the doors.

Great work, Cliff. Anything I might have said was already stated above. If you can't put them in a dio together because of the gear being down on the trailer you can always make a dio with the crew backing up to the trailer to hook to it. Just a suggestion, but if they never get into a dio I still say...Great work!! (++)

WOW, Lord Roo! This is very very impressive, and I will say, your best work so far. Not that your usual models are not impressive, but this one is sure a show stopper. This one is perfect!
