Work has started on the most important part of all. The Zimm. Went to the grandparent house today (the only quiet place I can work, and get a free meal ) Started the Zimm, with Milliput, and a tamiya zimm. tool. Worked pretty good. I will work more on it tommorrow. Let everything dry.
i wrote this for you that care.

Hehe... John, you are soooo right :-)
Now that I finally have my Bison under control.... just a few pastels left.. I'm eyeballing the stack - trying to decide what to break out next. I'm one of those rare types that only builds one thing at a time. I have enough trouble keeping track of where I am with one vehicle on the bench. I don't know how all of you others can keep everything straight with multiple in progress builds. LOL
Anyway - looking for suggestions. I think I have it narrowed down to:
Tamiyas new tooled PzKpfw IVH, in 9th SS "Hohenstaufen" markings - friul tracks, aber etch
Dragons Early JagdPanther - Aber etch - friul tracks (undecided on unit)
Dragons Panther A Early - Eduard Etch set and skirts - Friul tracks - Atak Zim, built as a 5th SS "Wiking" vehicle
or maybe Tamiya's PzkPfw IVJ, hard edge camo - Aber etch, Friul tracks, etc.....
hmmmmm what to start next
Any help? This is fun!

Oi Chip,
how long does it take you to crank out a finished model? Seems like you're able to spit them out at a rate of knots!
PS How many kits do you guys have lying around to be built on average? Only wish I had a bit more cash to stock up

No, I am doing it straight up, nothing in the aftermarket gig for me. Milliput zimm.

Since I have nothing other to do than build, it is pretty fast isn't it. Actually I go to high school, hang out with my friends, spend a lot of my time at the grandparents (who let me use their residence to do my Zimm.) Among other things I work on a model maybe 2-3 hours a night.
Sometimes I have two kits going at once. LIke over the summer, I had two planes going at once, all three months of vacation.
The zimm is done! I am letting it dry. I used the Tamiya zimm tool the first time, but tonight I did a little searching in grandpas tool box, and found an old pliers that was the exact same everything as the tool. So instead of scraping, I just pushed it into the wet putty. Looks even better than the tool.
I will keep you posted.

Lord Jeff,
How about we do something together. Here is the stuff I have for build with most of the AM ready:
1. Porsche Ferdinand Ferdinand Suspension, Ferdinand Jagdtiger with Cavalier zimmer, Aber/Lion Road PE, still need to find a barrel.
2. Stug III Ausf G with Eduard PE, and Barrel, and Modelkasten Tracks
3. Elefant with Royal Model update, Cavalier Zimmer, Gun barrel, and Friul.
4. Panther A with Part PE, and a Barrel
5. DML Panzer IV ausf J, with Eduard PEs, and a barrel
6. Pz IV L/70, with Aber PE, and a barrel.
So what ya say?

Yea Lord SS - sounds like fun...
I'm kinda feeling a PzKpfw IV vibe going on right now.... I think a nice three tone camo 9th SS Hohenstaufen vehicle all tricked out with the etch, tracks, and zimm would be pretty tasty.
We could have our own little "workhorse of the Reich" group build... your DML J would fit in nicely :-)
I'm not very good at building multiple kits at the same time... (I lose all the parts), and want to do the SS wagon for the Market Garden dio campaign... Seems the German builders will be outnumbered in that one - so I gotta "represent".... :-) That being said - I could always "learn" to get more than one kit going at a time
The Panther A sounds fun too - you get to make the call.... let me know what you want to do, and I'm with ya all the way....

Lord Jeff, I am game for the IV too. I hadn't done one for so long, actually the Tammi IV Ausf H was my first model... So let's get a IV mini groupie under way, say from next week? Be a lot of fun and honour to do it with a walking achieve like ya.
As for the MG campaign, is a dio or vig. a must? can I just do a vehicle? I will like to get in, but the Dio thing scares me. #:-)

Dave-
Sounds like fun! It is an honor to build with Lord SS :-)
I won't be able to get started next week though - I have a few more aftermarket bits on the way... lol...
Maybe we should post a thread about our "workhorse of the Reich - PzKpfw IV" build - so others can join in if they want to? You and I can do this regardless - but it might be fun for some others as well
As far as Market Garden goes... you should give it a go! I've only tried one dio in my life... and it was sort of fun. I thought "what the heck... no better time than the present, eh?" So I joined the campaign. I figure I'll learn alot and improve my skills a bit. Besides - I like the campaign process and want to take part in as many as I can.
By the way - my first model was the "old" Tamiya Tiger :-) Speaking of Tigers - I remember you did a Das Reich one... S13 I think? Did you take any pictures? I've always wanted to model that one. Maybe down the road........ LOL

I talked to UoAWildcat aka Demisticated Cat, he is game for a Pz IV build.... maybe we should start a thread to see who will be interested to get in. Maybe, make it an AM build, must have AM stuffs. LOL.
Yeah, I had done the S33 of Das Reich with 35K01, Friul, and Tank Workshop partial interior, the pics is in MSN armorama group pic. page 7, dave's model. they were like new pic of old models now. so lots of dust. LOL. Haven't give it the faucet treatment yet.
Here are some pics. (I love to show off my stuff )
dust bunnies. LOL
