Yes there are some. Academy make some motorized modern tanks, along with a Chinese maker Zhegfudu(spelling?)/Kit Tech. Rather toy-like from what I've heard. For WW2 stuff try Gaso-line or Propaganda Kompany from France. They do an extensive range in resin/white metal. There is also Hartsmith in the UK, mostly white metal/resin trucks but they do include a few WW2 tanks/armoured cars. You could also try ebay for the old Bandai range from the 70's or the later Fuman reissues. Prices can get rather high though as they are thought of more as collectables.

Yep, seen one in my local hobby store. It is motorized one, by Bandai and the box says no glueing or painting required. Might be a pre-painted snap on kit. So far, I've seen the M1A1, T72 etc...

Avoid the Zhengdefu motorized kits. They use photos of completed 1/35 scale Tamiya and Academy kits to fool you into thinking you are buying a quality model kit. They made only modern 1/48 scale armor and used the same lower hull for all kits. A Bradley, T-90, Leopard, M1A1, M60A1 all have the same tracks, road wheels, etc. I have the modern US vehicles (M2A2, M1A1, M60A1) and a couple of their MBTs (T-90, Challenger).

Academy has recently reboxed some of these Zhengdefu kits at twice the price.

Bandai's old Pin Point series from the 70s is long OOP and go for collector's prices now. They only made WW2 kits, mostly German but there were Russian, US and British vehicles as well. Unsure if they did a WW2 Japanese tank or not. These were high quality kits (for the time) with comprehensive interiors. Eduard made some PE sets for these kits, I know they did a Sherman one since I have it. I've got the Opel Maultier, M12 GMC and had a T-34/76 from this series.

Frog/Fuman reissued the Bandai kits with peel-n-stick stickers. I've got the M4A3 Sherman and Hetzer from this line.

Aurora is another long OOP series and have become mainly collector's items as well. Their series included WW2 and some modern US kits. More toylike with moveable parts, but rather cool for their time. The kits I have from this line are M109 (2), MBT70 (4), Long Tom (2), and M-47 Patton.

Monogram reissued some of the Aurora kits (Panther and M4A3E8) in dioramas with an aircraft. I've got the M4A3E8 Sherman and Fw190 from this series.

Tamiya had a 1/48 scale armor series. They were motorized toys as well, but surperior to the Zhengdefu ones. I have the M60, M60A1, M60A1E1 (M60A2) and MBT71 (Japanese tank) from this series.
