I'm currently building a Trumpeter KV-1E and have a question about the gun elevation.
On top of the gun mantlet is a fixed curved plate.
I'm assuming that to be able to elevate, the moveable part of the mantlet must pass under this fixed plate - if not the gun would not be able to elevate.
Seems pretty obvious and I suspect I've answered my own question.
But on my model when I fit the fixed plate, the top of the moving mantlet hits it and won't pass underneath.
But before I start thinning the fixed plate a little and removing a little for the top of the moving mantlet I thought I should double check here.
Cheers,
Nigel

Think I've confirmed my initial thoughts with this picture

Looks like the mantlet clearly goes under the fixed plate on the top.
Also the plate looks very thin - much thinner that the kit so that is where I should remove the most plastic.
Cheers,
Nigel
