Does anyone out there have the old Revell (80's), ex-Renwall (70's) M800 series 5 -ton wrecker kit that they want to sell or trade? Just lost a bid for one on Ebay last night as I was outbid at last minute. I've been looking for this kit for some time. Very hard to find.

It went for $55. It was at $25 when I started bidding on it with 20 minutes left. TI had it for $45. The guy who outbid me waited till last 1 minute of bidding and snuck in the higher bid to get it. He blocked me hard.

Gino,
As you know, I built my share of M35's and M54's...
If it can make you feel any better : the Revell wrecker is about the poorest model I've ever built. If your motive is notstalgia for the old Revell kit, my feelings are with you. If you had hoped to build a fine model, praise yourself lucky that you were outbid by another fella : there's far better models to spend 50 dollars on... tmho.
My two (euro)cents

General Failure,
Kit is still a pretty good kit to use for parts or conversion. Many good parts such as running gear, tires, descent start to an engine. It is also only wrecker model that could be affordable and not in resin. I don't like to work with resin, mainly because of cost, I can't justify cost when I can scratch-build or convert something else.
Guess I'll just have to keep searching.

I have one I'm not going to build. I bought it off ebay back in March and was going to use the bed on my M932. But I got my Tax return back and found the hobby fan conversion and bought it and used it instead

I'm reading your thoughts there Gino - this would be a good source of parts for your M123 project idea - I haven't forgotten about getting specific conversion notes for you either! I just need a little more time to give you a credible path to start on. If I had that old Wrecker - I'd send it your way

Hey fellas maybe you can help me. I've got the conversion for the wrecker from Hobby Fan and the m54 cab from Real Models would this be accurate. I'm trying to build an Israeli version and the two together seems correct. also would putting bigfoot tires on a m35 be correct including the tanker version.I just don't know the differences well between variants.

Shiryon,
M54 with wrecker bed is correct. Not sure of any Isreali specific items on it. Probably a good bet to cover it with storage boxes and water cans as most Isreali vehicles are. As for the M35. There is a new version, M35A3 being used by the Army National Guard. It has big foot style tires, a new grill and lights set up and many other changes from M35A2. There are good detail photos of this variant in MAJ Rob's Motorpool in the Photo Gallery above. Look under Vehicle Referances and then Modern US Vehicles.. Fuel truck version is no longer used, it was replaced by the M978 HEMMET fueler.
Hope these help.
