I was a great book 'behind enemy lines' by Terry O'Farrell, an Aussie SAS V'Nam vet, and he was on some sort of exchange with the USN SEALs, and they did a night time river insertion on a 'Medium' boat.
It is described as a wide flat-bottomed vessel 10-12 meters long, with low canvas canopy gunwhale to gunwhale, 2 enourmous out board motors. here is where it gets interesting...
On either side in about midships there was a 7.62 minigun, a .50 cal over the stern, and in the bow, a breech-loaded 81mm Mortar.

It had nav equip and radios and drew (displaced?) about 1m of water. Described as "the ideal vessel for working in such a ****hole". Does anyone know if there is a kit of such a beast, it would look quite something compared to the PBR for example. thanks.... bugger... i meant to put this in the vietnam section... i'll put it there as well.
