Salut,
By joining the marine corps campaign, I've decided to start from a Masterbox figures from the Irak 1 set, to depict a us marines in Fallujah.
I've started to search reference pictures, but OMG, it seems thata every soldier in Irak has worn a unique set of uniform and equipment. There are some much stuff used by US foot soldiers...so be gentle if I made one or two innacuracies..
This set has been killed by the reviewer, and I must say it's neither accurate, nor well detailled on many aspects. But the poses are good (better that the check point set were soldiers looks really straight/stiff).
So I'm in the process of upgrading this figure. I've started with the masks on his helmet, then the helmet straps,. I've redone the eyes because they were not align and quasi inexisting, I gave him some nostrils so that he can breast, some water so that he can drink, and a rank so that he can be proud.
Next steps are the vest, the equipment and the knee protection which needs to be 70% redone.
Any tips, critics, helping hand is welcomed.
Best,
Julien

one thing to be careful of....if you want to recreate marines and their uniforms, dont go off of army photos. army tends to have different gear setups including huge differences in their digital camo. if you want photos, search for marines in iraq or marines in afghanistan.
