Seeing the recent posts of Dora builds, I am thinking of starting mine. Knowing the barrel problems, I have the possibility of having someone turning a barrel for me. On another site I found several people that said they had plans for the barrel, tried to contact them, but never heard from them. So I was wondering if anyone might have a set of the plans, at a minimum the barrel. Would like to obtain as much of the plan set as possible. Needless to say I would pay for any costs associated. Reply either here or by pm - skarpins1@coxdotcom. Replace dot. Thanks in advance. Stan

I don't know if you are aware but there is an Aluminum barrel available for this kit. It may be a bit pricey but cheaper than having one custom machined. Try looking at one 35.com. There is a link I believe to the proper people for the barrel.

Hello

be aware that if the machined barrel is not fully drilled to a minimum thickness on the inside that could give you a too heavy part to bond to the breach with all consequence this will apply to the upper mounting
Barrel being conical outside makes inside to be machined carefully on a cnc machine with apecific tool to be built for that purpose so ... watch your credit card for the workshop !!!
This subject have been developed on many threads of various site and conclusion is always similar ;
Pricy = aluminium very well done and accuratly drawn
cheap= modifying yours with special flanges machined to joint 8 parts after cut ( be carefull with the appropriate bond to use when gluing these parts )
Hope this help
