I understand there are fit issues with the Legand Productions Humvee crew.Which one of the current Humvee kits will the Legand Crew fit into without major surgery.

As far as I know-none.
The crew will not fit the Legends M1114 or M1151 conversions without major surgery. Reduction of the seat height and thinning of the interior roof thickness would be required along with some removal of resin from the figures.
The Legends might fit the Tamiya kit out of the box (haven't tried) but of course their uniforms and equipment do not match the time frame of the Tamiya kit, even if one updates the Tamiya kit, most M1025's and unarmored variants where not in use when troops sported the gear worn by the legends figures (although you could modify them a bit)
No idea on the Academy kit
They will fit the Bronco M1114 and M1114 FRAG 5, but again some modification is needed. Its not too difficult because the way the kits are constructed. Basically leave off the bases for the seats, i think these are parts B19 or B18 (don't have the instructions to hand). Also leave off the interior roof cladding, this will give some extra head room. I still have to cut the feet off my crew figures, but it didn't matter as I closed the model up.

What's your plans Paul?.
Even if you go for a dismounted diorama, I'd still go with the driver in place and someone on the M2.
Chris.

Hey Paul,
I just did a real fast check on Hobby Easy and they have the 3rd passenger with the laptop as separate,so I'm sure the others can be found.
Rob,they do work better in the Academy, but still need work. It's a shame that the companys can't get this right.Do they not get the kit and test for fit?On the same subject,I just did the Russian Areosans and the figures by the same company Trumpeter, were also a bad fit.

Thanks Guy very useful feedback.
Just a point
I note that the seated figures are pictured on what look like a Resin replacement seat. I presume that this is from Legands Humvee update set. Would they be designed to replace the Bronco kit seating allowing the figures to fit within the vehicle? I think I read somewhere that the figure manning the roof mounted weapons system needs surgery to fit into the turret ring.

As far as I know the seat is from the Legends M1114 or M1151 kits and is too high to allow for the figures to be fitted in any of the kits. So I still maintain the best way to go is use the Bronco seats and just leave off the bases. I know that Voyager and E.T Model offer some replacement seats but I've no idea if the same issues arise when using these.
Regarding the gunner. Its my opinion that if one fits the gunners platform on the Bronco kit then the figure stands too high. Rob Skipper pointed out that the gunner of course isn't fully covered by the OGPK shields, but with the platform most of the upper torso is exposed with the Legends figure. I suggest leaving off the platform and shaving off the sole of his boots for a realistic height.
I don't think you should be put off from using the crew. With a little modification they can fit inside the Bronco kit and do look pretty cool once inside.

Since you've already ordered the figures I suppose this is a bit late, but with marginal modifications, the Legends figures can be made to fit both the Legends seats and the Tamiya ones.
I used them for this build with minimal modifications to the height of the figures. The problem I had was that the feet were too large for the foot wells, but since you can't see them when they're seated, I trimmed them to fit.
I second the recommendation for the Legends figures since they've got excellent detail and are superbly cast.
