I cannot wait indefinitely for Tamiya acrylic paints to be readily available in the US I'm willing to do an international transaction. I visited e-Tamiya and they charge $6 per bottle!

Has anyone ordered from other international stores?

Luckymodel.com always seems to have stock. Their shipping to the US is reasonable.

My local hobby shops have been getting in shipments for a month. Not a ton, but it's trickling in.

Yep, same problem where I am here in MD. Can't find much at my LHS. Hope things get better soon as I'm running out.

Thanks for all the replies. I just need 4 base-coat colors for WWII AFVs but I'll forward-buy like 5-6 bottles per color.

Why bother with buying all that paint now? The interruption wasn't something that is likely to repeated in the foreseeable future.

Our local shop wouldn't let people buy more than 2 bottles of any particular color when they first started showing up. I thought that was pretty cool of the owner.

I'd buy a few bottles of each color too. Mostly cause I don't want to have to go all the way down to the LHS just for paint. And when I do have to go buy paint, it seems they ran out of the color I need.

Stocked up on Flat black, had the hardest time finding it. Olive green is gone, switched to Khaki drab, it's gone now so I picked up a few bottles of olive drab...

I think I'll cave and buy online.

I just received email from Tamiya USA.

>>Tamiya paints are just coming back to the market as of >>December 2011. Tamiya paints can be order directly from >>Tamiya America, please see the link below.

Good news, but it's going to take some time to distribute paints. Hopefully, the shortage will be over soon.

BTW, I just ordered 20 23ml bottles plus 250ml Tamiya thinner. It's difficult enough to find time for this wonderful hobby; when I have time and want to paint, I don't want to worry about the lack of paints!

Was just at the LHS a couple of days ago and did indeed see a small restock on certain Tamiya colors and other Tamiya items (like their thin cement).
