Hello.
Painting figures is my weak point, so I started to practice. Here's some photos of the first try, so I would love to hear what you guys think.
Don't pay attention to air bubbles in resin and to he colors, it's not historical correct and I did not use putty and epoxy to level the surface, it's just a 2 USD resin copy.
Where can I improve, what's wrong and what's good?

The face! You can improve it by adding more depth and colour, and not just useing one single skin colour. The details like the eyes and mouth need defining.
The rest of the figure is good ... acceptable painting at this scale!

I agree the face needs some more definition. I use brown water-colors, a fine line brush and a loupe. You can use MM skin-tone light to highlight the cheeks, forehead and chin. I also mix a little of my base skin tone with the same color I use for the hair and drybrush it to look like facial hair. This is about a 10:1, skin-tone to hair color ratio. Be careful when painting the eyes. Although possible to paint them white, it looks unrealistic. Leave them a flesh color and add a very small dot of brown for the iris. Hope this helps. Just take your time and practice, practice, practice.

I think the pants look pretty good. The jacket could probably use a bit more shadow near the collar, where the front crosses over itself, and between the torso and right arm.

In addition to what the other guys said I think some more highlighting on the jacket would be appropriate.

thanks for the feedback. I've done some more shadow on the face, i'll post the pics in a bit. I think that I made soft highlight because I painted the figure under halogen light, in the sunlight the highlights are not so visible . But in a darker place there are much more visible

I paint under hobby lights aswell and they can bleach out highlights as you say. I must say I admire what you are doing, I wasn't happy years ago with my figure painting and I basically painted figures until I grew to love painting them. There is always room to learn new stuff though !

I am going to go with what Frank said. Everything else to me looks sound, the face is good, just needs more depth and colour. did you use acrylics or oils?

i've used lifecolor acrilycs and MM enamel for some shadows, i used only small amount of raw umber for the facial shadows. I'm going to buy vallejo acrylics, do you have any suggest for what colors i shold look? So flesh ones, some general and WWII german cammo
