Even to do one Panther on a car would run you a nice chunk of change. The rail car isn't common and is pricey.

Do you have any write-up to go with the picture? Are these captured or damaged vehicles? All of the Panthers that I can make out are G models, but none have hull or aamgs. Also, the lead vehicle is a Tiger 1. Anyone have ideas? I agree, great idea for a diorama, but even in braille scale, it would be a pain in the old check-book, especially getting all the flatcars

Hi. Yes, as far as I can remember Dragon did do a 'heavy' flat bed car for tanks some time back. A model that definitely needs to be re-issued in my opinion, esp. since the advent of the K5 kits. Maybe this will spure some incentive with the model makers. A whole line of rail cars would be a definite asset now.
Take care, sgirty

BlueBear,
off the top of my head, these tanks would be moving towards the front. The men on the tanks are the crew. You can thus assume that the area the train is moving through is fairly secure from their viewpoint. When transporting the Tigers on flat cars, they'd usually intersperse them with lighter vehicles in between so that they wouldn't overburden the bridges etc. The vehicles in between were usually trucks and the like.
Cheers,
Cokes.

Sorry to be a panther geek, but those are late A models, with the stepped side armor at the rear, not G's with smooth 1 piece, side armor. In addition the first tank has the drivers direct vision visor, not the periscope of the G models.
Nice pic and would make a cool dio.

That would make a hell of a dio, with three or four rail cars loaded with those tanks. But then again, if you have the money get and build all of those kits, than you have the money to do anything.
I bet that would of been a sweet target for red air force fighter/bombers!
