Ehm... Sorry for the silly question, but why not use real moss?
I have collected some from my backyard and, after drying, I put it in the blender (don't tell it to SWMBO!) you don't have to blend it a lot or you get powder, but depending on the time and speed you can obtain almos all lenghts...

Not so easy here edo. Our climate is dry so we don't get very many mosses around. The ones we do look more like mold.
Gans, try BNA. They stock both Treemendus and Scalerama. Otherwise search around through the likes of Hobbyeasy, Sprue Brothers etc.

Yeah, I thougt of that...
Do you think that the customs, ecc will allow a delivery of moss by mail? You see, my garden is very shadey and SWMBO is only happy if I get rid of some...
Problem is, it is all coverd up with snow right now, but if you have patience to wait till spring, and if it doesn' seem like drug dealing, I can sent it to you as much as you like...just ask!
