Thanks again Bob .The Sig 33 and Brumbars are my 2 fav's. One little mistake 23rd Pnz was'nt at Kursk. The Sig 33 were part of 9th Company Pnz Reg 201 23 rd Pnz Div. I was hope'n that the 2 did fight at kursk but have found no joy on loads of forums. IF you know different please please let me know. Cheers Geraint

The information on the vehicle is sparse, given that there were only 2 dozen made overall. I have seen a reference in Wikipedia (sometimes of doubtful accuracy) that they are referenced on a report as late as 1944. Perhaps others can share more details?

The latest reference I have is David Porter's "Das Reich at Kursk" (2011) in which he places the 23rd there as an integral part of the immediate post Kursk operation to eliminate the Mius bridgehead beginning on 30 July. I'm guessing that the few weeks between the operations and the same relative location has caused the 23rd to often be lumped into the Kursk fighting (assuming, of course, that Porter is correct in placing them there on those dates).

Thanks Rick any news is good news! Thats why I thought 23 rd wasn't at Kursk because it was defending the Mius Bridge Head. The Sig 33 would have been purfect break though weapon for Kursk, thanks Geraint

This is one of those must have kits, and I already have placed order to my local hobby shop. I also have CyberHobby kit of this ugly duckling, but very I'm sure that newer gets build first.

I'm growing to really like anything with the sIG mounted on it, they make very cool AFV's. Regarding the instructions, if you take your time and plan ahead you should be fine. You can tell that Dragon is pushing a little to fast with releasing their kits, but they've brought a great standard for styrene kits to the industry and I'm willing to give them some leeway with this area.

There is a series on the Military Channel called "World War Two in Color," and the intro includes a scene of a sIG mounted on some tracked platform shelling what looks like an apartment block with devastating authority.
