The latest reference I have is David Porter's "Das Reich at Kursk" (2011) in which he places the 23rd there as an integral part of the immediate post Kursk operation to eliminate the Mius bridgehead beginning on 30 July. I'm guessing that the few weeks between the operations and the same relative location has caused the 23rd to often be lumped into the Kursk fighting (assuming, of course, that Porter is correct in placing them there on those dates).
