I have been wondering what the barrel/container on the rear deck is, I've seen them on various pictures from A'stan, and other conflicts.

Hi Pit
Do you have perhaps a pic of it?
As far as i know the barrel on the rear deck actually is a wooden bar (yes, the bar which you can often see on Russian tanks), but I might not understand exactly

I have lots of reference about the BMP-2...Anything you need let me know...for example have you already seen here?

If you mean the log, it is an unditching log. It is wedged in the tracks and used to unstick the BMP when it gets stuck in uneven terrain.

Ok
...to be honest I guessed that a skill modeller as you are, can't confuse a reservoir with a log

Do you think of the vertical cylinder located approximately between both roof hatches? If so, this is the air vent extension.

thanks guys, but it's more like a bathtub mounted on the right behind the turret ontop of the right back tophatch.
might be some sort of extra stowage container, or water reservoir, where BMP know for using to much coolant, overheating? will try to scan them pictures, but I have a family issue to solve first, family first
greetz and thanks for the quick reply's guys!
