Having just ordered the IBG 1/35 scale 6 wheeled radio truck and interior kit I am looking for a generator trailer to complete my proposed diorama. I think I saw one of the resin kit makers with one but am unsure whether it is available now or if it in fact ever was. Can anyone help please?

The trailer is the same or similar to the one in the photos below which are used for information purposes only.

Any help at all appreciated

Hi Cliff

The generator trailer in picture #1 resembles the one released by Plus Model (#259) :

Fine Cast Model has released the one in picture #2 :

Thanks Frenchy. Just found the Plus Models one at Jadar. Exchange rate makes it about $74.00AUD plus post so I will get one in the next couple of weeks to complete my IBG truck and interior set.

Thanks

You're welcome. On a side note, Plus Model kit is labelled as being a Sd.Ah 24, but there are some minor visible differences with the real one :

http://www.kfzderwehrmacht.de/Homepage_english/Trailers/Special_trailers/Sd__Ah__24/sd__ah__24.html

Maybe there are just modifications made during its production run.

Good work, as always, Frenchy!

Anyone know of retailers in the States who have either the Fine Cast Models or Plus Model trailer in inventory?

Bill the Fine Cast one is listed on their German site as being the power unit for searchlights etc. and I think is smaller then the larger Plus Models kit thus making them two different units.

Bill I found it here by doing a Google Search as I found the Fine Cast site a pain to navigate

http://www.onthewaymodels.com/kitlists/FCMkits.htm

2nd listing down is the one I think.

Cheers
Cliff

Cliff

The kits listed on ondewaymodels.com are 1/72nd scale ones. And the generator appears to be a larger, 2-axle one, probably similar to this one :

Ah Thanks mate. I did make a booboo. I Googled and did find the one you pictured so I'll have a look again later. The Plus Models one matches other photos I have so that is the one I will be getting for the IBG truck.

Lots of good 1/35 German softskins coming on the market at present. Better order more German Grey and Dark Yellow paint

I've got the Plus Model one in the stash and it's a lovely piece of kit, well worth getting.

Some 1:1 Sd.Anh 24 generator pics in ZIP format :

I guess this one, which had seen better days, is the other variant (FCM kit) :

A few more Sd.Ah 24 pics (looks like the one replicated by Plus Model) :

Frenchy, as always, GREAT WORK.

Cliff, I can't make heads or tails of that site except to say there ain't no trailer there, LOL.

Dean, I'm def jealous of you. I tried looking at purchasing the trailer from PLUS directly, and their site redirects me to a retailer who has a shaky security certificate that Firefox won't accept. I've heard enough horror stories about Eastern European sites ripping folks off to know I ain't biting.

The Barrel Store folks are lovely, but they don't list the trailer. I'll contact them to see whether they can get it and how much with shipping.

At least you can find it on eBay (maybe not the cheapest option...)

And in Greece, LOL:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/PLUS-MODEL-GERMAN-HEAVY-GENERATOR-SD-AH-24-1-35-259-/270804229612?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f0d309dec

The shipping's the killer: $14-$24 on top of a $65-70 item. But thanks, Frenchy, you're always reliable!
