When they arrived they were painted in the three colour NATO scheme and then were repainted in desert tan.

Use Tamiya's NATO colours for the NATO scheme.

For the Desert Tan you might want to mix Tamiya Buff and Tamiya Deck Tan until you get a shade you like....the possibilities are endless.

Jeff;
Not the best solution but here goes. Try mixing Tamiya Desert Yellow with Deck Tan and or Buff. I find that these work the best for me and looks like what I remember our tracks looking like in GW1. Usually go 70 to 80% DY with the others in varying proportion till it looks "right" (whatever the hell that is). Someone with more experience may have a better soloution for you, but I tried to match mine to the Model Masters Gulf War Sand that is supposed to be a match to what was used over there. Hope this helps. Cheers.

Here is a pic of my track during GW1:

Thanks guys,I did manage to find "U.S.Army/Marine Gulf Armor Sand" Testors acrylic #4812 using paint4models.com.Since the name says it all,I'm thinking that will will work
Jason:You bring up an interesting point.If they where repainted once they arrived,this might be a chance to practice the hairspray method.
Damon:Was your's repainted?And if so,how much chipping took place?If any.
Thanks,J.T.

Jeff;
yes we left Germany with the NATO 3 color and painted our tracks in theater. Paint wore off very easily so lots of "chipping" or just wear and tear. Cheers.
