Greetings guys...! I'm glad to be back on the forums...

I'm finishing up the TUSK I "Bad Influence" from the Tankograd book. I need help with the fonts on the borevac - Pages 34,36,37 and 41. Note that the fonts are stretched height-wise.

Do you guys think that Echelon's D356122 US ARMY Bumper Code Generic Set 2 (White) will work? Are the two sizes 2.2mm and 2.9mm? http://pachome1.pacific.net.sg/~kriegsketten/D356122.htm

HELP!!!!

Oiiii!!! Anyone?

Here's the pic of the borevac, compliments of Frenchy.

Got some more questions if anyone can help...

Somebody built this cooler, any advise? I need to scratch it

~The white cooler Hot/Cold type? looks like Realmodel's?
~The opened Blue cooler with white lid are regular types?
~Where to get those white fonts on the Jerrycans?
~Any measurements for the stowage box?
~What MOLLE pack is that?
~Someone made this stretcher as well, any measurements?

THANKS Waiting Anxiously!!!

Hi Nick

All I can say is that the white cooler looks like an Igloo Marine ice chest, similar (if not exactly the same) to this one :

Dimensions : 11 1/4"H x 20"W x 13 1/8"L

Talking about the storage box, I believe such boxes were "borrowed" from M900 series trucks or HEMTTs...

For the white stencils on the fuel can, maybe you could use transfers such as those made by Woodland Scenics (providing the size is OK...I must say I haven't converted the US sizes )
http://woodlandscenics.woodlandscenics.com/show/Item/MG752/page/17

EDIT : I think those in the above link would be too large

Archer may have similar stuff...

Here are the dimensions of the Rubbermaid 5 Gal. water cooler : 12-1/2"D x 19"H.

Nick,

You can get the coolers from this set from Commanders:

Thank you guys for the replies.

I'd go with scratch building the coolers...thanks Frenchy.

I think I can scale down and print out those fonts from woodland Scenics for the Jerry cans..since they're on a black background.

OK I found the stretcher info BTW.

Any measurements for those Stowage boxes...?

I still can't find which MOLLE pack is that....?

Hey Nick, I don't have exact measurements for the stowage box but if memory serves there were some nice pics of a box like that in Ralph Zwillings M1 bible...
also, to me, the molle looks more like ilbe (I know it's an army tanks...)... maybe the new legend sets would do...

Cheers, Max

OK I got 3 more questions about the tank.

Legend's 50cal with CSAMM just sucks,sucks,sucks.. so I'm going to replace it with those closest to the DML kit.
Any company makes a bunch of them? (I have 7 TUSK tanks in need!)

Is that a regular M240 with the fore sight removed, and rail added for the gunner's station? Which particular set should I go for Live-Resin or another company?

Commander's M4 with rail system,etc.. Again Live-resin or Trumpeter...etc?

Thanks a bunch

I would suggest Live Resin as those weapons are just amazing. But... you'll have to get all the extra accessories separately so if you need only one M4 perhaps it would be cheaper to go with Trump. Here are all Live Resin reviews published on Armorama, perhaps it would help:

Thanks Mario, I'll get the Live Resin sets since I need a bunch..
I guess that would mean 4 sets in order to do that particular TC's M4 :
Correct me if I'm wrong...
~LRE35001 US Army M4 carbine with Closed rail interface system (Look's "closed" to me)
~LRE35012 Harris bipod / Surefire Lights (for the light)
~LRE35008 US Army scope set 2 (for the Trijicon ACOG 4X day scope with killFlash. Tankograd's Pg 36 and 37)
~LRE35010 Insight Technology's AN/PEQ's (Tankograd's Pg 39, middle pic)

I noticed that the Bad Blessing's TC has a different M4 set up.

I have another exact tank finishing soon. The decals are too large, pissed me off with all the effort I put. Couldn't do the hanging gear though.
Legends ERA was crap, kept on warping, in the end I cut certain sections and realigned them.

Great work Nick, you really work wonders with modern subjects. I like the weathering.

Well done,

Looks Fantastic Nice weathering on the whole it looks very realistic I have given up on the Legends Tusk sets they are nice but all of the ERA I have had has warped I just use Tamiya Tusks for conversions and have no warping.

Thanks for sharing Ben.

Great finish Nick even if you're not fully satisfied with it

Like Ben I found the Tamiya TUSK really nice and practical. No headaches to get the parts aligned.

Thank You Guys.

The most tiresome part of this is adding and then painting the straps for the ERA..
I have 6 sets of Lengend's TUSK I and II kits and about half of them have resulted with warp issues. All they had to do was not pull the resin out of the mold so quickly.

I have the Tamiya TUSK that I am going to install ET Model's detail set..thank God they included a easy strap method! I am looking forward to it.
