I just received the re issued M-46 by DML. Looks great in the box. Can I get some feedback on the do's and don'ts of putting this DML kit together. I am interested in applying the tiger type face to her. Obviously, the guy who did this during the Korean War had time on their hands.
thanks

take your time with the track links.Do not lose or waste any there are enough for the vehicle and spares on the turrets.
All in all,I believe this M-26/26A1/46 series was the best armor that dragon did.

DJ, I think Cookie Sewall built one of these in the FSM "Modeling the Korean War" special issue. (I could be wrong). Anyway, I'll check when I get home. If it sounds like something you would be interested in, shoot me a PM.

Great kit DJ, you should have no problems. Won't go together like a Tamiya kit, but if you take your time it will build up real nice. Actually just about all of the 3rdID did this to their tanks. I think they thought that the supersticious Chinese would fear the tiger faces. More like fear the 90mm canister round!I just received the re issued M-46 by DML. Looks great in the box. DJ,
Watch the alignment on the roadwheel arms. Other than that it is a fun build. Other tiger options are the 6th TB, supporting the 24thID - these are the ones with orange/yellow turrets with black & white stripes or the 73d TB which had a detailed tiger head on the glacis and paws on the fenders.

AFV Club has issued a set of M26/M46 T80E1 tracks (workable links) that could be a good Plan B option if you dont' want to use the kit tracks...

Nice one TankCarl. The day you guys decide a "Patton Series" Armor group build is in order - I'll be on board raring to go!

More like a "Patton" build where you could do anything from the figure of the General to one of his staff cars or Jeeps or any tank that carried his name. I'd like to see some of you masters kick out one of his armored cars that he used.Nice one TankCarl. I like this "Patton" idea too. Man he (Patton) had some ugly personal vehicles - someone might confuse this with a Sci-Fi group build...
