I am currently working on the Accurate Armour M114A1. The instructions call for the interior to be painted white. Since I am modeling a vehicle from the mid 70s, I believe the interior should be the same light green as the M113 family (duck egg blue I think it is called), but in my research on the net I can't find an actual date that the interior color stopped being white. Did anyone serve on a M114A1 in that time frame (especially in Germany)or know when the color changed?
Thanks
Dave

First, how is the AA kit to build? I have always wanted to latch on to one of these kits.
Second, check out this link...tons of pics. The restored vehicle pics appear to resort to white but the in service pics from the 1970s seem to have the interior as Sea Foam Green....but some of the rear hull hatches are painted in the Sea Foam or the base green colour.

Post some pics of your project if you can.

Thanks Jason.
I had already been through this site during my surfing of the net for pictures/information. As you can see from the pictures, there seems to be no standard for a white or seafoam interior. That's my problem. It seems that I would be right either way
As for the kit, it is very nice. Good quality molding with little flash. I will try and post some pictures of my progress. I've just started with it, but so far it is going together well for an all resin model.
What I need is first hand/eye witness information from anyone that served on one in Germany.
Dave

Look up Wolfhounds in the member Gallery. I BELIEVE not only did he serve in Germany sometime in the 114s time frame, I BELIEVE he rode in one.

No worries...good luck with your project.
I suspect that the white interiors were used with original vehicles in the 1960s and then as time went and they were over hauled the Sea Foam Green replaced the white interior. Your interior colour will depend on what years you are looking at for service in Germany.

Hi Dave, Brien told me you need some 114A1 info. I served with 2nd ACR in Germany(68-70). First off the only white interiors i know of, both 113's & 114's. Would the first generation "I.P." vehs. By 1964 the Army was using the pale green color( i was in the Army in 64). Look at the commander's cupola, if it has a split hatch it's an I.P. veh. Your later models had a single round hatch. If your building a 114 in Germany after December 1969. You may want to look for a hispano Souza 20mm cannon. Our scout sections started receiving them in January 70. If i can help you any further, feel free to email me.
