How do you make WW2 rifle belts?i have been painting aluminium foil and sticking with instant glue which is causing havoc to the plastic cause they keep falling off when moving the figures during the course of time, any better ideas?

You can use really thin pin striping tape from an auto body shop but lead foil (from say a wine bottle) is your best bet. Why not paint them and glue them in place once you are ready to be almost done with your figure?
You could also make attachment points for your slings with spare PE fret or wire, drill the rifle and glue them in place and thread your sling through that, it might be a bit stronger.
Hope this helps. Cheers.

I use either lead or pewter foil (If you want the sling hanging) or electrical tape (If you want the sling pulled taut). Cut very finely with a steel straight-edge and sharp knife. Use Aber buckles for the fittings. A tiny amount of superglue and you're done. The best bet is to fit after painting. http://aber.net.pl/detal/desc/buckles_and_straps_090250023/
Hope this helps.

so it boils down to beeing extremely careful. The problem arises when you have to move your figures, some contact is going to happen and they fall off and everytime you apply quick glue you damage the styrene.

Consider mounting your figures onto small bases to avoid actually touching them when you move them.

There is no appropriate material or technique for making scale-sized rifle slings that will withstand rough handling. The glue attachment area joining the end of the sling and the model weapon is too small to make glue joints strong enough to stand uo to what you are describing.

having them on bases definitely solves the problem.....until you move again.
