Preparing to get old junk look. It's just poor Italeri model without any special addons.

Curious to see how this turns out. Nothing wrong with old kits like this one. They are great to experiment and practice weathering techs.

Interesting comments. It's generally regarded as one of the better kits of its day, and still holds up well even today.
Looking forward to seeing progress.

I have built that kit, its a beauty. Never had anything really wrong to say about it, maybe seams here and thier, but not enough to ever call it junk. Its a splendidly joyful kit.

I think he's refering to how it's going to be built, not on the kit itself.
Nice start BTW, does it come with the engine?
cheers

It does come with the engine and is considered one of Italeri's best kits. Far from being "just poor Italeri model".

That's how I took the comment, as well.
In so far as the kit being "poor," again, I think friend "bartekk" was referring to how he's giving the kit the old "piece of junk" works in his build - as in pity the kit for what's being done to it.
FWIW, I also think the Italeri M-47 is still one of the best all-plastic armor kits ever molded. Aside from some minor fit issues arising from the complecated cast hull and turret shapes (keeping in mind that the kit design and mold cutting was all done pre-CAD), the M-47 stands up well and holds its own against just about any other all-plastic kit - from then or now.
Anyways, it'll be interesing to see how this build turns out.

Please accept my apologies if I offended. I must have been reading in swahili. My bad.

At first. At first. Thanks for your post. "Piece of junk" is a title for building time. Poor? I meant that I will not use any resin of PE addons. That's true, kit is really easy nad pleasure to build.
Back to model...
First, I painted the model with black and covered it with glossy acrylic varnish. After got dry I used popular technic of hair spray to get first chips. Used colour is Humbrol 98.

Nice update, thanks.
I like the use of foam for masking the engine bay.
cheers

It's just a sponge from the kitchen, but still a great solution. You can cut any shape you need.

Next step. Just more brighter rust with hairspray technique and Humbrols 70 and 62.

Will this represent a range target, or soon to be target?

I think that final result could be interpreted as that.

Bartekk,
Very cool concept. Nice work!
PS:
Gentlemen....I think before we criticize someone's comments on this site we must first understand that English is not everyone's first language here. I wish I could be as fluent in German, Polish, Russian or Turkish as some of our brother and sister modellers from other countries are in English. Think....before you tear into someone!

I'm a long, long ways from trying to build a "junk" model. It looks great! My only suggestion would be to add more chipping on the fenders, where you have lengths of rust. BTW, I think you English is quite good.

Wow! Great looking build! Very nice effects from the hairspray method. But I kind of prefer the look before you added rust patches. I think there's too much of them and the contrast is a little to high.

I agree on the redish rust being perhaps a bit to pronounced but that might also be light/photo. I also would suggest some addition to the base, perhaps just some dry grass or anything that sort of makes the base break off from the vehicle.
Apart from these small points I think you ended up with a great looking 'piece of junk'. Great to see the M47 being finished with such a nice result (althought they look good in working condition as well
) !
Cheers,

Thank you for your coments
Anyway, dont' worry. Its not finished yet. Now I have a little brake but soon oil paints will be on. Hope that gonna lower the contrasts a bit. Also work on base will be continue.
