There is no rules, AM parts are perferrable, but not essential. So if anyone wanna join, feel free to.

Actually I am thinking of going the Tiger I 1/16 scale route as you said King Dave! (++)
With a grunt and Oink (++) and a Hubba Hubba (++) .
But anything would be good to do how about a Panzer III Ausf L 1/35 from Tamiya?
With just the tracks changed (:-) (++) (++)

I'm going to whip up Tamiya's PzKpfw IV H.... Shes gonna get the Aber etch treatment.. Detail set - Turret skirts - Hull Skirts as well as the Friuls and zim. I plan on a nice three tone camo - with 9th SS markings..... cool
This should be fun! I'm looking forward to seeing everybodys "in progress" pics and stuff...
UofA Cat... your wonderful piece of Soviet hardware ate up your cash, huh? Doh.... I hate it when that happens :-)

Lord Nelson,
How about we make it Pz III/IV any Ausf? what ya say? so my good hubba hubba buddy Lord Jeff Reef can join too.
Lord Sgtreef, the 1/16 tiger groupie, let's make it 2004...
Another news. I cannot do the IV ausf J, the shop that stores my model for me sold my J (even I paid for it!!! ) Oh well, so I am gonna do an F1/2. Question is Lord Nelson, is there any F1 just changed the gun and convert to the F2, with no external difference elsewhere? Thanks.

Lord SS -
Sure - lets add the PzKpfw III to this too - that was the "workhorse of the Reich" up 'til '43.
The F1 and F2 were the same vehicle - just different gun. When they changed the designation to the G model they made some mods to the engine deck layout. Technically they just re-named the F2 to the G model, so the late F2's also had this engine deck difference, but initially the early F2's were exactly the same externally as the F1's... with the L43 gun and single baffle muzzle break. Jordi Rubio does a wonderful barrel :-)

I built the Academy one, and she wasn't to bad.

Hey there TankCarl...
I say you break out that Bison II lurking in your closet... LOL.. I wouldn't wish that on anybody :-) Once you get set on a "workhorse of the Reich" let SS or me know what you are gonna do.
On a side note.... for those of you interested... I plan on adding a folder to my picture gallery here - so we can all display our work in one place. Makes it more convienent... Just email me the pics when you want, and I'll load 'em up. If you don't think that is a good idea - that's cool too. I just thought that when this thing finishes up - I could post a single thread with everybodys completed work in it for all to see. Let me know what you think.

Arrgh, so many models so little time, I am bit over extended with other builds / campaigns right now but if this is still going in December I may join in (I'll be starting a Sherman for the other side if I am free in time), regardless I will be following the progress of the rest of you for future use.

Holy s*** !! I just finished my Panzer IV Ausf. J about last week! Evil tidings have befallen me in these times.
Just some info on the kit I just finished one week too early.
a) Shanghai Dragon item 6080 Pzkfw. IV Ausf. J late
b) Lovely sharp details. Lots a nuts!..... & bolts
c) Individual link tracks
d) Mesh side skirts instead of the armor plate in tamiya's offering
e) No figures
f) closed hatch design (aaaawwwww)
g) warped rear turret armor plate (A Gigantic Rip-off!)
Good luck in your group build!
Karl

Very nice Cat .... I like that kit!
I'm going to do a PzKpfw IV H (or late G) of 9th SS Kampfgruppe "Harzer" near Arnhem. I can hardly wait to get going :-) I'm going to start mine on Nov. 1st.... The list of doo-dads includes, (but is not limited too) the following:
Aber Etch Set;
Aber Turret Skirts;
Aber Hull Skirts;
Friul Tracks;
Collectors Brass machine gun and mount;
Fine Molds periscopes;
Archer Transfers;
Jordi Rubio barrel; and
Cavalier Zimm (or miliput, I haven't decided if I like the Cavalier pattern).
I am one sick dude (said while shaking my head in shame)...... In my defense, however, all of the crap getting added to this one tank was not purchased simply for this vehicle. Most of the stuff I had gathering dust... so I though "what the hell!! Why not use some of it?"
Later
Jeff
God - I'm starting to sound like Uday...... look at that list of stuff I'm putting on my "expertlie mades panzer" ..LOL No 48 hours deadline for me though... I not man enough for that

Maybe you have been afflicted with Udayitis #:-).
LOL - I don't know if I have Udayitis or not, but I definately have SOMETHING...
I went to the hobby shop today to simply pick up a bottle of "blacken-it" - and spent 122 bucks. The sad thing is.... I didn't even buy a model. I got some sheet styrene, milliput, some paint, brushes, blacken-it, and AFV club tracks, blah, blah, blah..... I am one sick puppy...
Anyway - the kit tracks in the J are excellent, and correct... the real thing didn't have hollow guide horns - so you're golden :-)

Lord Saurkraut,
For one reason alone, the rubber bank tracks, I avoid them any chance I got. And they are too easy. I like DML, I love to clean flashs a bit... kinda neat....And Lord UOADomesticCat, I will get my Pz IV J and do it as well!!!!

Very nice Herr Field Marshall Der Panzer Truppen :-)
I love that kit.. Tamiya right? Very slick build so far... If you don't mind my asking... what paints are you using? The colors look spot on - I'm curious what brand and colors those are.
Looks good so far - can't wait to see it all weathered and such :-)

Lord Jeff - FIeld Marshal Der Panzer Truppen Jeff,
Awesome Looking, can't wait to see this baby weathered, what division would that be? Do a Wiking for me please...
Lord Jeff - Nelson Jeff,
The comment about the paints being dead on, as our good friend DOmesitcCat put, is very Udaytitis...
#:-)
But I agree, the color does look real good.

Yes
panzers IV was indeeds workswhorse of dirtte reichs.
I knows lasts panzers exhibited by self has small flaws in otherwise expertile constructions of projects dues to time beings so manie close. So I shalls joins in builds and creates mosts expertile panzers IV alsos.
I hopes inclusions in builds causes noones to fears not buildings as goods as Uday and not participates. I am sure builds is opens to all of anie skills, not just expertile modelers.
Mr. Uday, it's an honour to have you expertile modelers join us bunch of bloody amateur ones. We will be looking forward to your expertilely made Pz IV then! #:-)

I agree... "blacken-it" colors Friuls most expertlie as well. Not only can you expertlie create the sag, but expertlie color them. We all know that painting tracks cannot expertlie reproduce the colors as expertlie as blacken-it can.
Lord Nelson
PS - It is an honor to have you onboard with this build Uday..... I hope to learn something from your expertlieness model buildes skill.
