I wonder if anyone can tell me, what are the troop carriers rolling by on parade in this little clip? The parade was staged for the last Afghan king, and is dated 1968. I didn't think Afghanistan had BTR-60s at that time, or am I wrong? I'd appreciate it very much if anyone here can identify these vehicles for me.
Pics of Soviet vehicles in Afghanistan are easier to find than pics of vehicles operated by the Afghans themselves, for some reason. Of course, I realize this was long before the invasion.
Thank you, gentlemen, for your help.

Just a quick observation and potential word of warning if you are about to model an Afghani BTR-60PB
The BTR-60PBs in the clip appear to have a different engine deck arrangement to the Trumpeter kit. The two access doors, presumably left open for extra ventilation, are similar in size and shape (angled forward edge) to those seen on early BRDM-2s (see trumpeter test shots).

Hi,
i think that the Btr-60PB in the video has the engine deck of the Btr-60PA version (the version with roof but without turret). But later the afghan army used also the version of the Btr-60Pb of the trumopeter kit. In the book "Armor of the Afghanistan War" from concord are Photos of Btr-60 of an afghan paratrooper unit. But this book is really hard to get and in the book "the war in Afghanistan" also from Concord is an Photo of an "late" Btr-60Pb on an Prade. But in general i think that the afghan Btr-60 were not very spectacular just green.
