Panzerlok 57, Trumpeter 1/35
May I present my first AFV build since 30 odd years. I have been building aircraft for ever, or rather planning, hoarding and stashing and never seemed to be able to finish even the smallest project. The number of hangar queens is embarrasingly high by now, so I looked for something quick and easy, or so I thought.
The photos are taken with building lamps and without diffusor so the weathering may seem a bit too much in places. It doesn't have a big gun being a locomotive but I thought this would the place to post som pix.
The Trumpeter Panzerlok is a big beast when finished and quite fun proces it was. The hull is totally empty although the different doors may be opened. I inserted a PVC tube to fill the void and to present the impression of boiler. The waterpump comes from the Trumpeter BR52. I used Tamiya paint for the base colour (should look like Reichsbahn grey, ie slightly lighter and bluer than panzer grey). AK wash and Vallejo khaki grey for dust. Mechanism was glossed over with Tamiya smoke and a little bit of Mig dusts. Graphite on every corner.
Please have a look and feel free to comment, pro and con. I am learning and would really appreciate the experts' look at it.
Having been bitten by the AFV bug (and having the blessing of my dear wife ...), I will present quite a few more finished projects later this weekend.

Kind regards
Robert Lundin

Hi Robert
An unusual subject, but really cool looking. You've done some very nice weathering, but I think a bit a rust here and there would be nice. Well, just my two cents worth... Please do continue the great work.
Best regards
Jacob
